I CAN SCHOOLS recognizes that today's top talent is searching for an organization that will value their employees as much as their employees value their field of interest. Many of the best educational organizations in the nation share characteristics such as competitive pay, exceptional benefits, and plentiful instructional resources. In addition to these offerings, I CAN SCHOOLS also offers the "intangibles" that great professionals seek out in their preferred workplace. Our environment and culture facilitates high productivity, professional development, and team building to help our employees thrive personally and professionally each day.
At I CAN SCHOOLS, we believe in supporting the instructional practice of our teachers. We have a dedicated team of instructional leaders who develop instructional Scopes and Sequence, Unit Plans, Daily I CAN Statements (learning objectives), and PARCC and OCBA aligned assessments for teacher use. We also provide our teachers with the support of a Lesson Design Team, who provides rigorous, standards –aligned daily lesson plans in multiple content areas.
I CAN SCHOOLS believes strongly in developing our talented instructional and leadership staff by providing ample opportunities for professional growth. Annually, we offer an intensive Summer Academy, where new teachers can become acclimated to ICS and the teaching profession. New teachers have the opportunity to build relationships with colleagues, learn and model “best practices”, and hone their skill sets. Additionally, each Friday throughout the school year, our schools participate in Early Release for scholars, which allows our teachers to participate in weekly professional development sessions, collaborate with colleagues, and conduct professional research. Teachers are also highly encouraged to participate in off-site professional development opportunities such as conferences, workshops, and trainings.
At I CAN SCHOOLS, we believe that structure, systems, and routines are imperative to the success of any educational environment. We provide teachers with support in all areas of developing a positive learning environment, including a behavior management system. Teachers are provided clear, specific, research-based instructional and cultural taxonomies that are proven to produce positive, student-centered behavioral and academic results. Additionally, teachers are provided daily support from various members of the leadership team, including coaching, mentoring, and feedback on both cultural and academic items.
